At Camp Reach, we bring awareness to ourselves, others and the environment through yoga, swimming, cooperative games and community service.
Caroline Coons and Amy Jarrett began teaching summer yoga camps together at the Center of Gravity in 2016. In 2018 they were offered to run their yoga camp under the umbrella of the Camp Play LLC. As Camp Reach in 2018 with Michael Poole they added the element of community service. In 2019, Caroline, Amy and Michael joined a full collaboration with Leslie Ayers and the Healthy Bodies Camp at the Rockbridge Aquatics Center! The core principal of play is central to the experience of the camp. The total experience through play is to reach within to know one's own body/mind configuration, then to reach out to realize how to help others and the environment. Yoga and water play, cooperative games, an engaging community service gardening project for Heritage Hall, and nutrition and healthy eating will all be highlighted again in this year's 2020 camp.
